Ekiti Local Government Area is located in Kwara State, North Central Nigeria, with its headquarters in the town of Araromi Opin. It borders Ekiti State to the west. The LGA comprises several towns and villages, including Etan, Isapa, Ejiu, Obbo-Ile, Eruku, Ajuba, Osi, and Oke-Opin.
Covering an area of 480 square kilometers, Ekiti LGA had an estimated population of 54,850 according to the 2006 census, with most residents belonging to the Yoruba ethnic group.
The Yoruba and English languages are widely spoken in the LGA while Christianity and Islam are the commonly practiced religions in the LGA. Ekiti Local Government Area hosts a number of festivals such as the Osi-Ekiti festival which draws people from within and outside the Ekiti LGA.

Farming is a major economic activity in Ekiti LGA, where a variety of crops such as cassava, yam, kola nut, lettuce, and orange are cultivated. The area also has large deposits of granite.
Tourist attractions in Ekiti Local Government include Oloroke Hill in Eruku, the Wood Carving Center in Osi, Apo Olori in Isolo-Opin, and the Archaeological Site in Obbo.
