The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State, Dr. Umar J.G Mohammed, has reiterated the commands readiness to sustain the synergy between the corps and the Nigeria Correctional Service in the State.
Umar stated this during a courtesy visit by the newly posted Controller of Correctional Service, Controller Danmairomu Shuaib Ayodeji, and his management team at the state command headquarters in Ilorin today 10th June, 2024.
He also elaborated further on the crucial role of the corps in ensuring the security of correctional facilities nationwide and protection of vital national assets and infrastructure.
The NSCDC boss unequivocally expressed the command’s determination to collaborate closely with the service in order to mitigate attacks on correctional facilities in the state.
In his response, the new Controller of Correctional Service, Mr. Danmairomu Shuaib Ayodeji, appreciated the commandant for his warm reception.
He further stressed that the visit was to sustain and renew the existing relationship and as well as to synergies efforts in combating crimes and ensuring security in the state.
Danmairomu therefore emphasized the necessity of inter-agency collaboration in safeguarding lives and properties, stressing that no single security agency can address these challenges in isolation.
