Patigi Local Government Area is situated in Kwara state, North Central geopolitical zone of Nigeria with headquarters in the town of Patigi. The LGA is made up of several towns and villages, including Kpada, Lade, Patigi, Gbadekin, Koro, Kusogi, Lagada, and Lanlegi.
It is inhabited by the Nupe people who also exhibit a linguistic repertoire of the Yoruba dialect. The Nupe language is widely spoken in Patigi LGA, and both Christianity and Islam are commonly practiced religions. Notable festivals held in Patigi Local Government Area include the Patigi Boat Regatta Festival and the Ndakogbaya Masquerade. Tourist attractions include the Etsu Nupe Palace, Duku Irrigation Scheme, and Gwasun at Egwa Mama.

Additionally, Patigi LGA is a hub for various economic enterprises, including fishing, animal rearing, and food processing.
The region is also known for producing a variety of local snacks, such as “efan,” “gbankuru,” “liala,” Kuli-kuli, “dankuwa,” “banbara,” and “alewa.” Furthermore, Patigi LGA is rich in mineral resources, including granite, clay, columbite, gold, quartz, iron ore, and silica.
